Leprosy Mailing List – June 19,  2020

Ref.:  (LML) INFOLEP new publications on leprosy. June, 2020

From:  Annemiek Akerboom, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Dear colleagues,

We are happy to share the news on two launches with you.

Firstly, we are very excited about the launch of the ILEP/NNN Guides on Stigma and Mental Wellbeing. Visit us at www.stigmaguides.org. The Guides were designed so that everyone who is interested can better understand what stigma is, how it manifests, how it can be reduced, and the tools available to assess the experience of stigma and mental wellbeing by people affected by neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), their communities and society at large.

Everyone is encouraged to explore the Guides, discover the full spectrum of the content around the basic information about stigma; its causes and manifestations; as well as its impact on mental wellbeing.

For specific questions about the Guides, please get in touch by email at info@stigmaguides.org

Secondly, we would like to share that the French version of the SkinApp has been launched through Google Play Store. The app will support French speaking health workers to diagnose and treat skin diseases including skin NTDs such as leprosy. It has been great to collaborate with partner organizations Damien Foundation and FAIRMED who enthusiastically supported the development of the French version by translating the content. Another perfect example of coming one step closer to achieving our mission through collaboration.

Furthermore, like every month we send you an overview of publications on leprosy recently added to the Infolep website. To search the full collection, please visit www.leprosy-information.org. Feel free to contact me with questions, comments, or literature search requests. I would be happy to assist you.

Kind regards,

Anniek Akerboom
