By attached file the Congress Brochure of the coming International Leprosy Congress. With permission, I reprint the Welcome Message by P Narasimba Rao of the Organizing Committee.


The 21st International Leprosy Congress (ILC) is one of the world's most significant conferences bringing together National and International experts on a single platform to meet, exchange knowledge and discuss the latest developments in the field of leprosy. The theme of the conference is Better Knowledge, Early Diagnosis and Improved Care.

The Congress is being organized by IAL and IADVL with the support of Central Leprosy Division (CLD) NLEP, MoH&FW, Govt of India; under the auspices of International Leprosy Association (ILA). Number of international leprosy stakeholders like ILEP, LEPRA, Sasakwa Leprosy Initiative and TLMI, have already agreed to be the official partners of this congress.


The 21st ILC will be held in India from 8th to 11th November 2022 at the prestigious HITEX Exhibition and Convention Centre, Hyderabad. The Congress will be held in a Hybrid Model with both physical and web-based sessions which allows more then 110 hours of scientific sessions with ability to accommodate over 2,500 physical delegates, and unlimited virtual participation. It plans to focus on the major breakthroughs and advances in various aspects of leprosy such as diagnostics, therapy, epidemiology and their impact on clinical practice and management of leprosy.


The ILC 2022 gives world renowned leprologists, National program managers, NGOs, social scientists and leprosy workers a prestigious platform to present their latest research, share their best clinical experiences, ILC 2022 also offers young researchers a range of rewards, as well as an unparalleled level of exposure at this congress.


ILC 2022 has also initiated Abstract Mentor Program (AMP) for 21st ILC 2022 with the objective to support the needy leprosy Health-care providers & researchers, young scholars and students to improve their abstracts before submitting them, in order to increase the chance of their work being presented at the congress.


The participation, support and partnership of all leprosy institutions and organisations is essential for the success of the congress to make it a strategic meet in our fight against leprosy. Our aim is to serve a wide variety of interests, including that of People affected by leprosy, health care professionals and scholars to exchange stimulating new ideas for the elimination of leprosy.


We, the organizing committee, are making all the efforts to make this congress relevant and successful. We invite you and your organisation to take part in this congress in full measure so that together we can work for attaining the national and global goals of leprosy elimination.
