Hello Pieter, Dr Kar and the engaged revered clinicians,
Since quite some time (as Dr Kar mentions, as early as 1978, when late Dr R Rees was the chairman of WHO-THELEP), I had been hearing about chemo (rather anti-leprosy drug) prophylaxis for abolishing transmission. It will be a good exercise to review the literature regarding robust evidence vs superficial hypothetical assumptions and then form a firm work platform to undertake a study, not just as an impulsive research project.
One also should be cautious about the use of any drug as a prophylaxis, with the fear of drug induced autoimmune syndromes.
