Leprosy Mailing List – October 23, 2024
Ref.: (LML) New Publications On Cross-Cutting Issues In NTDs. October, 2024
From: Roos Geutjes, Sophie Vissers and Upasana Regmi, Amsterdam,.the Netherlands
Dear colleagues,
This month, we celebrate major milestones in the global effort against Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). India, Pakistan, and Vietnam have eliminated trachoma, while Brazil and Timor-Leste have eliminated lymphatic filariasis. Similarly, Jordan became the first country to be verified by WHO for leprosy elimination.
Featured publications highlight many valuable WHO resources. We also share practical resources for health workers, such as innovative training materials, online courses, and updated care guidelines.
Finally, we cover upcoming key events such as the Global Symposium on Health System Research and many webinars on topics like delivering NTD services in conflict zones, progress in WASH systems, and gender-just climate transitions in African health systems.
Join us in celebrating these achievements, exploring the latest innovations, and continuing the global fight against NTDs.
Enjoy this month's edition!
Warm regards,
Roos Geutjes, Sophie Vissers and Upasana Regmi
