Fw: Ref.: (LML) Announcing the Launch of 'Archives of Indian Journal of Leprosy' Website

Leprosy Mailing List – April 4,  2025

Ref.:  (LML)  Announcing the Launch of 'Archives of Indian Journal of Leprosy' Website

From: P. Narasimha Rao, Hyderabad, India

Dear Editorial board and Members of the Leprosy Mailing List,

We are  pleased to announce the launch of the 'Archives of Indian Journal of Leprosy' website, an initiative by the Indian Association of Leprologists (IAL). This project has been in development over the past three years to preserve and provide global access to the rich legacy of leprosy research published in this journal,  the Indian Journal of leprosy (IJL) which was first launched in 1929 under the title Leprosy in India.

The website currently hosts digitized issues from 1929 to 1949, with additional archives being progressively uploaded over the coming months. This evolving platform aims to serve researchers, healthcare professionals, and historians by offering:

Digitized archives of past journal editions
Easy search and retrieval of articles
Free PDF downloads of all available articles
User-friendly design with a dedicated FAQ section to assist in navigation and archive searches

Visit the IJL archive website: https://www.indjleprosyarchives.org/

We gratefully acknowledge the invaluable support of the past and present EC and members of IAL, whose support and contributions have made this initiative possible. Please note that digitized archives from 2008 onward are available on the Indian Journal of Leprosy website: https://www.ijl.org.in

We warmly invite global leprosy researchers, healthcare workers, historians, aficionados, and all stakeholders to explore this website and its wealth of information. Your feedback and suggestions are most welcome as we continue expanding the archives.

Please feel free to share this resource with colleagues and institutions engaged in leprosy-related work.

Best regards,

P. Narasimha Rao, Sujai Suneetha, SantoshDev Rathod & Rajya Laxmi
