Dear Colleagues,
There is an opportunity for all stakeholders in the leprosy field to highlight their current involvement in research on leprosy.
The Uniting to Combat NTDs group, sponsored by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), is currently collecting data for the 3rd Annual Report on progress towards targets, which were defined in the WHO Roadmap on NTDs (2011) and endorsed by the London Declaration on NTDs in 2012.
ILEP is representing the leprosy field in the London Declaration Disease Specific Working Group. In this capacity, we have been assigned the task of collecting and collating information on current research in leprosy in order to provide input into the 3rd Annual Report and its Scorecard. Dr Wim van Brakel has been assigned to lead this task.
As part of the process we are currently collecting information on research projects in leprosy. Hence we would be grateful if you would share with us information on large(r) research projects that your organization is currently undertaking or supporting or research projects that will start in the future. In general, we are interested in research projects that will be finished by 2018, or implemented by 2020. If relevant to the London Declaration targets, projects submitted in time may be included in the Uniting to Combat NTDs 3rd Annual Report.
