Dear Pieter,

Thanks to Dr. Theunevet for his LML letter of March 9, 2022.

I am Prof. Robert Machang'u from St. Francis University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ifakara Tanzania.  I am collaborating closely with the Nazareth Leprosy Centre, Ifakara. It is correct that recently I sounded a call/need for collaboration in research with specialists worldwide inthis sadly forgotten area of NTDs. The Nazareth Centre has a lot of needs for sure. I just consulted with the Centre to come up with specific areas of need in clinical leprosy and I am waiting to hear from them.

In any event it would be a great opportunity if Dr. Theuvenet during his next visit to Tanzania could spare a day to visit Ifakara-Kilombero District and specifically the Nazareth Leprosy Centre. Since January 2022, I have witnessed 4 new cases of lepromatous leprosy, one which was quite advanced.

Once again, I would like to thank Dr. Theuvenet very much for his interest.

Robert S. Machang'u
