From:  Ben Naafs, Munnekeburen, the Netherlands

Dear Pieter,

Concerning the remark of Wim Theuvenet about antacid's when clofazimine and prednisolone are prescribed. It is always wise when one prescribes prednisolone for a longer time to prescribe antacid's too, for the reason he presents. Concerning Clofazimine this gives according to me enteric irritation due to deposition of the crystals. I doubt know whether antacid's will be helpful here.

Whether there is specific damage to the gastric mucosa I do not know.

Thanks for the mentioning of the risk of occult bleeding when prescribing prednisolone, whether the use of clofazimine for the stomach needs it I do not know.

Regards,

Ben
