I appreciate Prof. Terence Ryan's views (LML Sept. 25^th, 2010) on the claims of WHO on "leprosy elimination".  I have recorded my observations on the Indian scenario many times in LMLs.  The index prepared by Dr Sunil Deepak [Leprosy LML archives] may contain these.  I am enclosing some more material (page 1, page 2, page 3) for the attention of Prof. Ryan as well as your readers.
