The role of stress in leprosy reactions

Leprosy Mailing List – April 11th, 2011
Ref.:    The role of stress in leprosy reactions
From:  Dinkar D. Palande, Kurichikuppam, Pondicherry, India

Dear Dr. Noto,
I am happy at the ongoing discussion of an important and forgotten topic having a major role in Leprosy reactions.  Unlike my working days today there are many markers available for stress as well as immuno-markers.   The role of stress proteins as antigen and in autoimmune conditions and relationship of these proteins in immunology is being studied a lot.  A research on the role of stress of various kinds and reactions in leprosy is needed.  We do need a well-planned research with the collaboration of a good laboratory.
Warm regards,
Dinkar D. Palande
