International Symposium on Leprosy / Hansen's Disease History as Heritage of
Humanity

Dear Dr. Schreuder,
We are pleased to announce
that the International Symposium on Leprosy / Hansen's Disease History as
Heritage of Humanity, organised by Sasakawa Memorial Health Foundation, was
concluded with much success. At the opening of the above symposium on 28th
January 2016, a fully renovated and renamed website of the International
Leprosy Association - History of Leprosy was officially launched.
The original site was a
product of the International Leprosy Association's Global Project on the
History of Leprosy, which aimed to develop a database of leprosy archives. Over the last decade, internet technology
had improved and advanced rapidly. Sasakawa Memorial Health Foundation,
with full endorsement of the International Leprosy Association, decided
to fully renovate and expand the site and with Dr Jo Robertson who
has been dedicating to the history of leprosy since the
International Leprosy
Association's Global Project on the History of Leprosy.
We hope the new-look and
user-friendly site will serve as an entry point for as many people as possible
the rich legacy of the history of leprosy.
