Dear colleagues,
Referring to the letter from Dr. Fernandez of October 7, 2019.
A combination of Rifampicin + Moxifloxacin + Minocycline is considered very effective. Considering the long doubling time of M.leprae ( 2 weeks), the monthly dose is considered more practical than the daily dose. The recommendation is only daily or monthly dose. There shall be no in-between since molecular studies suggest that an in-between dose (every 2 weeks) may trigger mutation causing drug resistance.
