Thank you very much to Dr Mondjo for the leprosy data about Gabon and her comments.  Herewith I would like add my comment on the above mentioned topic.

 

It looks like the "elimination strategy" was drafted to take credit of "Achievement" (before retirement of the experts and all those who took credit) rather than reducing administrative expenditure on maintaining vertical structures for leprosy control, by giving such complicated attachments to terms (..as a public health problem, ... at national level) and confusing explanations.

 

This has promptly reduced the importance of leprosy as a health agenda and resulted in lack of availability of trained health staff for a large number of people affected by leprosy in most of the Indian provinces.  I wish people understood the importance of language and its impact on policy decisions affecting millions of people.
